Privacy Statement

This PRIVACY STATEMENT (the “Privacy Statement”) applies to the collection, storage, disclosure, and other processing of personal data by SCREEN SPE Korea Co., Ltd. (the “Company,” “we,” or “us”). We are dedicated to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of the information entrusted to us.

Generally, our intent is to collect only the personal data that you provide voluntarily so that we can offer information, products, and services to you or your company; seek commercial opportunities with your company; or offer information about employment opportunities.

In accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea (the “PIPA”), we establish and disclose this Privacy Statement to protect the personal information of data subjects.

Please review this Privacy Statement to learn more about how we collect, use, share, and protect the personal data that we have obtained.


1. Collection and use of personal data

1.1. How we collect personal data

We obtain personal data about you if you choose to provide it, for example, to contact our personnel in the course of business. In some cases, you may have previously provided your personal data to us (e.g. if you are a former employee).

By providing and/or submitting personal data to us, you are also acknowledging that we may use this information in accordance with this Privacy Statement. Your personal data is not used for other purposes, unless we obtain your permission or are otherwise required or permitted to do so by law.


1.2. Legal grounds to use your personal data

We generally collect only the personal data necessary to fulfill your request. Where additional, optional information is sought, you will be notified upon collection.

We process personal data so long as we have grounds under law to do so. When we process your personal data, we will rely on one of the following processing conditions under Article 15 of the PIPA:

  • Performance of a contract: This is when the processing of your personal data is necessary in order to perform our obligations under a contract with you.
  • Legal obligation: This is when we are required to process your personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation, such as keeping records for tax purposes or providing information to a public body or law enforcement agency.
  • Legitimate interests: We may process information about you where it is in our legitimate interest to do so in running a lawful business in order to further that business, so long as it does not outweigh your interests.
  • Your consent: We may occasionally ask you for specific permission to process some of your personal data, and we will only process your personal data in this way if you agree to us doing so. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at email.

We collect and process “sensitive” personal data only when the relevant individuals voluntarily provide us with this data and give their consent on processing such data or where such data is required or permitted to be collected and processed by law. Sensitive personal data includes personal data regarding a person’s race, ethnicity, political beliefs, political party or trade union membership, religious or similar beliefs, physical or mental health, genetics or biometrics, sexual life, or criminal record as defined by applicable laws. Please use your discretion when providing sensitive personal data to us, and do not, under any circumstances, provide sensitive personal data to us unless you consent to our use of that sensitive personal data for legitimate business purposes and to the transfer and storage of such data to and in the Company’s databases. 1.3. Categories, purposes and retention period of processing of personal data

We may collect, use, and disclose personal data solely to the extent necessary to conduct our business activities and only within the scope of the purposes indicated when we obtained the personal data. Unless a longer retention period is required by applicable laws, we retain personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected and processed. The personal data that we process may include the following information:

1.4. Handling of minors’ personal data

We understand the importance of protecting children's privacy and do not intentionally collect personal data from minors. It is our policy never to knowingly collect or maintain information about anyone under the age of 14 without obtaining the consent of the holder of parental responsibility over the child in question. Accordingly, if you are under the age of 16, you must obtain permission to send your personal data to us by any means from the person with parental authority over you.


2. Sharing and transfer of personal data

2.1. Provision to third parties

We do not share personal data with unaffiliated third parties except with your consent or as permitted under Articles 17 and 18 of the PIPA. The table below lists domestic third parties to whom we provide personal data. For overseas provision, please refer to Section 3.

2.2. Delegation of personal information processing

We may delegate the processing of personal data to a designated third-party as follows, and the delegatee may process personal information in accordance with the purpose of the delegation. For overseas delegation, please refer to Section 3.

3. Overseas transfer of personal data

We may transfer certain personal data outside of Korea (including by way of third-party provision and delegation) to our global affiliates or service providers for purposes such as business continuity and data management. In accordance with Article 28-8 of the PIPA, we provide the following information:

4. Your rights

If you have submitted personal data to us, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data under the PIPA:

  • Right to access to personal data;
  • Right to rectification;
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten);
  • Right to suspension of processing
  • Right to withdraw your consent to processing;

You can make a request or exercise these rights by contacting us at email, and we will put forth all reasonable and practical efforts to comply with your request, so long as it is consistent with the applicable laws.

5. Data security and integrity

5.1. Safety measures for personal data protection

In accordance with Article 29 of the PIPA, we implement the following technical, managerial, and physical measures to ensure the security of personal data and to prevent any unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification or alteration of personal data:

Managerial Measures:

  • Establishment and implementation of internal management plans
  • Regular employee training on personal data protection

Technical Measures:

  • Management of access rights to personal data processing systems
  • Installation of access control systems
  • Encryption of unique identification information
  • Installation of security programs (e.g., antivirus and firewalls)

Physical Measures:

  • Access control to computer rooms and data storage archives (e.g., locking devices)

5.2. Retention and destruction

We put forth reasonable efforts to retain personal data only for so long as the information is necessary. When the retention period has expired or the purpose of processing has been achieved, we destroy the personal data without delay.

However at times we may need to retain the personal information for a longer period in order to comply with legal and regulatory obligations or other legitimate business reasons. In such cases, instead of destroying the information immediately, we store it in a separate database (or a separate storage location) to ensure it is segregated from other personal data.

We destruct personal data stored in electronic file format by archiving it into a separate database in which the information is irretrievable through our ordinary course of business, or using technical means which make it impossible to restore the data. For personal data printed in paper, such will be shredded or incinerated.


6. Installation, operation, and rejection of automatic data collection tools

6.1. Use of cookies

We use cookies (or similar technologies) to measure visitor traffic and improve our website. We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Category 1: Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are required in order to run our website.
  • Category 2: Performance Cookies. These cookies allow us to analyze the visitor traffic and derive insights on how to improve our website.

We use Google Analytics to collect logs of your activities on our website.
